Jonathan met Maxine Lea in the Font & Firkin in Brighton, August 30th in 1999.

Their friendship resulted in Maxine agreeing to create all the initial artwork for Summer Rain, as the graduation piece to her design degree for Norwich University and in return Jonathan would have lots of original and lovely artwork for free!

Maxine agreed to use the image of the three deckchairs as her starting point as that had always been Jonathan's original poster design. Jonathan was delighted with her take on his simple idea and the colours that she used; all of which has become the basis for all the artwork ever since. "Maxine's input to Summer Rain can not be underestimated" said an enthusing Jonathan.

Jonathan tried his best to keep as much of Maxine's work as possible for the Eureka DVD release. The deck chairs, basic colour scheme and even the underlay of the three girls (in the postcards) remain. Jonathan hopes that this 'tribute' to Maxine's work "proves how strong her initial work was on the film, that served it so well at so many film festivals."
